14-Across: Roman Emperor, 936–973 = OTHO ("Roman Emperor, 936–973") is actually an error — that date range corresponds to Otto I (the Holy Roman Emperor), not the Roman Emperor Otho who died in 69 AD. The clue conflates two different rulers.
